Our versions of our story are a litte different but the end result is the same. Two people who fell in love.
It all started well over a year ago when Dave, sort of awkwardly, approached me and introduced himself. I was polite but didn't pay a whole lot of attention. I finally figured out something was up when he conveniently ended up at the same places as I was more than once. Strangely he gave me his business card offering free labor to fix my ceiling. Anyone who's been to my house knows what my poor ceiling looks like. Lol. But free? Something's up!!
He finally got up enough courage and told me how he felt which I know wasn't easy for him. I am not one who does so well on the spot. So I said ok and got up and walked away. Poor guy. Pours his heart out and gets nothing back. After a few days I was feeling bad so I finally texted him and apologized. I guess that business card came in handy after all.
It was a slow process but eventually we were spending more and more time together. I definetly never saw this coming or working out for that matter. If you ask him or pretty much anyone they'll tell you of many many reservations about us being together. But it has been a great thing. My mom even liked him. Which that in itself is amazing! Although he worked really hard to win her over. Now I think she likes him better than me!
There were some difficult things we had to deal with as a couple but we came out on the other side successful. Our friends have been super supportive. More than they know. And we thank you for that. We learned very quickly how to work together, our differences, preferences and our real feelings about each other. After that it was an easy decision.
This is a condensed version of our love story. But it's our love story. I love it. I love him. He loves me. And we are so happy that the friends and family we love will be with us to share our special day!! |
